Imagine you are in a sweet shop. All around you are sweets or candies that you want, in glass jars just waiting for your selection. Now imagine that instead of candy all around, there are instead, the things that you wished that you could do, be have or become before you die.
Die, I said, yes, unfortunately, one day will be our last. So who are we to say when that might be? But now while you want to and you have the time to do this, what would you choose for your wish list?
The task is to write down 50 things that you want to do, be have or become before you die. Perhaps not before you die if you dont like the implicaption of this. How about 50 things you want to do be have or become in the next 365 days. That is easier, is not?
I have asked clients to do this exercise, and almost all state the problem they have is the 50 things, not the exercise itself. So come on now, and allow yourself the time to write down this wish list. It will take time, but it is not difficult to do, once you overcome the resistance to do this exercise.
These things must excite you! Paying the rent or your mortgage is necessary but does it excite you? Also, it might be easier to divide these things into types. Financial, Educational, Travel, Desires (material things), Health or Business. Anything that you want to do be have or become. Remember, let your resistance go and let your pen do the writing. It is healing to get this stuff our of your head and on to paper!
